Outplacement - An Inside-Out Perspective
(September, 2002) Having managed an internal corporate career transition center for almost a decade, I thought I had a handle on the best interaction between former employees and outplacement providers. As an Ayers Group client, I thought it best to offer and encourage employees to use the firm's outplacement services, but I didn't think it necessary to bring employees and counselors together at the termination meeting. Not wanting to intrude on people at a difficult time, I instructed the counselors not to contact former employees.
